Make Your Desktop Cheerier →
Ho ho ho! As Christmas draws closer, I start looking for more ways to deck my halls with boughs of holly. As I spend a large portion of my day working on my Mac, it only makes sense that I would want to expand my decorations to my desktop too. Well, I looked around, and I found two really great apps that’ll spruce up my Mac. (more…)

Oof...
This year has certainly not been a good one as far as health is concerned. I can’t say a lot, but things certainly aren’t great here. I’m fit as a fiddle, but I can’t say the same for those around me. It doesn’t help that I happen to be surrounded by people who have the burden of medical knowledge. As soon as something simple arises, everyone goes into threat level...

Apparently quicklook has a plugin system. →
If you don’t know what quick look it, you’re missing out!  Highlight a file and hit the space bar. It’s that simple.  Apparently apple designed the application to be easily plugged into by 3rd party developers.  A gentleman, or women… not sure which, has added the  ability to quicklook into a folder, as well as to use quicklook to see what is inside of a zip file.  How cool is that?  You can check...

Things I Love About Firefox 3.0 Beta 1 →
The good folks over at Mozilla have finally released the first beta of Firefox 3.0. A lot is being done under the hood, and I’m sure a lot of users won’t even recognize that there are changes. However, I have been using it for a couple of days, and I wanted to point out a couple of things that I really like about this new version. Passes the Acid2 test Full page zoom Dynamic image dragging...

Chax 2.0 →
For those of you that have been waiting, Chax 2.0 was released last week, and I have been loving it. It doesn’t restore all of the functionality from Chax 1.x, but it certainly restores a few key features that I need from my IM client. Growl support Auto-accepting text invitations Displaying status changes in the chat window Displaying the buddy icon of the sender in your dock Buddy list...

True Art
7th Son is such a beautiful piece of art. I remember the day that I started listening to the 7th Son trilogy like it was yesterday. It is crystal clear to me. It is what I imagine falling in love with someone is like. It was the beginning of a wonderful journey that I appreciate like nothing else. I hear people talk about seeing Star Wars in 1977 as an 11 year old. The pure joy in their voice...

Download Music and Movies with Apple and Mac OS X... →
One of the first questions I get asked by new Mac users is… how do you download music. My answer… iTunes of course, but then they make sure to point out that they want it for free. Now I don’t condone downloading music illegally, but luckily for me, I live in Canada–where downloading is legal! So here’s a list of some ways to download files, and the programs you will need to do this. (more…) ...

Dear Microsoft, So, how are things? The wife? I hope all is well. Things are pretty good over here in OS X. The whole Leopard thing is a big success. I’m sure your new OS is doing well too. Vinny, Dave, Trish, and I were all on Chris and E’s 10th episode of Pod25. It was a crazy-good time, and I’d like to thank everyone involved.
