Of iPods & Backups
One of the best parts of buying a new iPod is the feeling of nonchalance for the well-being of your old iPod. For me, the best use I have for my 30 GB 5th generation iPod is as another back-up device. If you’re not familiar with yours truly, I am fucking paranoid when it comes to backing up my data. Along with keeping a clone of my drive locally, I keep an ever-growing collection of...

Adium and multiple Chat Accounts (Part 2) →
Another quick tip for those Multiple Chat accounts that were spoken of in my last post. See last tip. Have you ever wanted to set which account is the primary account that you send to for somebody that has multiple accounts? Well that’s quite easy. Find them in your buddy list, right mouse click (or ctrl click) and select ‘Get Info’. That user’s info page should show up. Along with this info page...

Vienna: A Free RSS Reader. →
I noticed today that a good chunk of our visitors are getting our posts via the feed, so I thought it might be a good time to talk about Vienna. We’ve talked about other RSS readers, and most of the good ones you have to pay for… which sucks. So, here comes Vienna, and…you guessed it! It’s free! (more…)

Icons not showing within Grid View in Leopard →
So you install a new application, by downloading it, dragging it to your applications folder, open up the ‘grid’ view under the application launcher on the Dock and all you get is a broken application icon… well there’s a quick fix for that. It involves either Activity Monitor or terminal (whichever you feel more comfortable with). (more…)

I really don’t care about the ban, I just wanted to give “props” to the designer of the poster. It is actually really interesting. It is clever, to say the least. (Via Gruber)

Warp: Change Spaces in Leopard with your Mouse →
Kent Sutherland, the developer of Chax, has released a preference pane called Warp that allows you to move through your different spaces with your mouse. When Warp is enabled, holding your mouse to the side of your desktop will take you to the space in that direction. If you’ve ever dragged a window to a different space, you’ll be familiar with the mechanics of this. I always appreciate...

Adium and multiple chat accounts →
Have you ever had somebody who has AIM, Gtalk, ICQ, Hotmail and who knows what else and you’re using Adium?  Now, you have that one person with all of those accounts so, of course, they all show up as separate entities in the list.  Have you ever wanted to combine all of them?  Well, there’s an easy way.  All you need is Address Book.app.  If you add the person as a contact, then add all of their...
