Get your head in the game, LucasArts.
Grant Brunner: Looks like LucasArts is developing a Wii lightsaber game internally. No word on when it'll be announced or released, though.
Grant Brunner: It's about fucking time there was ANY news.
Grant Brunner: Those guys constantly disappoint me.
Charlie Brunner: hi, do you like making money?
Charlie Brunner: yes?
Charlie Brunner: stop being dicks and make a wii lightsaber game
Charlie Brunner: and go ahead and make 3 more starwars movies too
Charlie Brunner: everyone will love it and you'll make tons of money
Charlie Brunner: its a win win
Grant Brunner: Amen

Just buy your OS. Christ.
matrix_hacker: do you know of a torrent for vista?
matrix_hacker: cause im out of trial periods for my server 2K3 and the only other doze disk i have is win98
Grant Brunner: 1) Ugg. If you can't afford to buy Vista, you can't run it on your box.
Grant Brunner: 2) No, I don't know of one.
matrix_hacker: it'll run on 700mhz w/ 384mb
Grant Brunner: HAHAHAHAHAHA
Grant Brunner: Good luck with that
Grant Brunner: I'm sure you'll be pleased.
matrix_hacker: i'll just stick a 256 in each slot then
matrix_hacker: 768mb?
Grant Brunner: You should just slit your wrists with the ram sticks
Grant Brunner: that'll be a better user experience
matrix_hacker: lol

Turns out that the sun gives us heat.
Grant Brunner: I forget that it is hot outside
Grant Brunner: then I go outside to walk or something
Grant Brunner: then I'm like "Christ. I need some shorts."
Grant doesn't have ADD.
Grant Brunner: I wonder if I could write a novel.
Grant Brunner: Long form writing is something I desperately wish to do, but fail miserably at.
Grant Brunner: I lose interest in things too quickly
Charlie Brunner: get ritalin and have at it
Grant Brunner: it isn't like "Once upon a time... OH! PUPPIES!"
Grant Brunner: I can sit and pound out a chapter
Grant Brunner: but then I lose interest
Grant Brunner: and I can't bring myself to work on it anymore
Movie Monday
Starting roughly two years ago, my cousin Charlie and I have watched at least one movie every week together. We had to take a break when he started attending college, but we have started the ritual again.
I don’t remember all of the movies we’ve watched, but here are the movie’s we’ve watched since the return of Movie Monday:
V for Vendetta [72%] [CB]
Scarface [89%]...
Wait, not kill Christians? I’m disappointed in Penny Arcade.

It plumps when you cook it.
Ugg… I miss my computer. I need to get it back to normal pronto.
I have watched more TV in the last 48 hours than I have in this entire year. Did you know Nero Caesar was, we think, the basis of the bible’s anti-christ? Did you know that the Vancouver Island marmot has a population of only ~100? Did you know that sea urchins could theoretically live forever? I do now. Oh,...

Living out of a web browser.
Turns out I screwed up worse than I thought. I am reinstalling my OS as we speak. At least I have a current back up to fall back on. It is even bootable, so I can boot to it if need be. I am sitting on my Kubuntu box in Firefox. Thank christ that almost everything I do is contained within the browser. I have my e-mail, my blogs, and my instant messenger right here.

About Permissions
Never, under any circumstance, screw with your permissions. Ever. You will break something if not everything.
I was lazy, and I wanted to install Comic Life Deluxe on all of the user accounts on my machine. I run as a limited user, so I didn’t have permission to write to the Library folder. With a couple quick edits in Finder, I change the permissions in every folder in ~/Library. Rookie...

Telling people to spend $500 is not quality public...
I see this same conversation on forums over and over again. It drives me crazy, so I wanted to bring this to your attention. Here is an example:
Steve: Do you plan on supporting OS X? Dick: Well… Blah blah blah… If you buy a full copy of Windows and a copy of Parallels, you can run our product on your Mac. Steve: I hate you.
Look, guy, I understand that not everyone can support all...
Does your music autoplay? Get the fuck out.
I HATE ANY MEDIA THAT AUTOPLAYS! If I go to your product’s website, and music starts playing, I am going to close that tab. Fuck your product. I will not even consider buying it. I know that you think that it is “Super cool” and “Just like the tee vee,” but it isn’t. It is incredibly annoying, and it makes me hate you and your product. Don’t do it.
That...

The Macalope "Sells Out" →
The Macalope, as introduced to a lot of us by Merlin Mann, has now moved his blog over to CNet. Certainly interesting, but don’t you think it kind of takes away from the mysteriousness? I mean, he is essentially employed by a conglomerate now.
Good for that guy, though. As a wise man once said “Cash, money money, for real. Dollar bill y’all.”
EMI sees boost in sales thanks to iTunes Plus →
NO! Really? I would have never guessed that people might buy more music when they aren’t locked into one ecosystem. Thanks, EMI, for giving DRM free music a go. Let’s hope the other guys learn from this. They are losing out on a lucrative market. Everyone, you should be piling money into EMI’s pockets!
Hot Women on Flickr
I find it hilarious that hot women on Flickr get so many comments. Not surprising, really, but funny nonetheless. I’m part of a Flickr pool in which people post a picture of themselves every single day. If I look through the pictures, the women get an average of about 4 comments, but the guys get roughly one comment.
If you look at this poll on GameFAQs, you’ll see that roughly 94%...
About Copyright Law
Copyright law scares the shit out of me. I think that when compared to most people, I have a fairly good grasp of the whole thing. However, I worry that I’ll slip up and post something that doesn’t fall under fair use. In reality, people do this shit all of the time. It isn’t very likely that anyone would ever come after me, but that doesn’t make me any less paranoid.

About Doppelgängers
I think of myself as very multifaceted. I do a wide variety of things, and so I come across a lot of different people. I gravitate to people that exhibit the characteristics that I like about myself. People that are technically adept, comfortable presenting to crowds, and big music/film/video game nerds. However, I strongly reject people that represent the parts of myself that I hate. People not...
