Charting Steve Jobs’s Family Tree
As you can tell from the many genealogy-related posts over at Macgasm, I’m a bit of a family tree lover. I thoroughly enjoy working on the ancestry of interesting people so that they can be linked into the “Big Tree” — a family tree on Geni.com that has well over 40 million profiles on it. Well, today I started work on the family tree of our beloved Steve Jobs. That, my friends, is why I am writing this.
Steve’s tree is a little bit tangled due to adoption and births out of wedlock. Sadly, that makes finding accurate data to be harder than it usually is. Combined with these factors is Steve’s penchant for keeping his personal life out of the public eye. Genealogical information is, unfortunately, a casualty of that mentality.
So, I ask you, dear reader, to donate your time to researching the Syrian, Swiss, and German roots of Mr. Jobs so that we can see how he is related to us all. If you’re interested, all you need is a free Geni account. Request collaboration with yours truly, and then get to working on Steve’s family. Feel free to hit me up on Twitter if you find anything interesting, or if you need help.
