Grant Brünner: Bassguy

I am actually surprised that I am still going strong. I took two days off, but I wrote over a thousand words today. I am really pleased with how easily everything is flowing for me. I think the considerable research I did, and the extensive outlining is really paying off. These characters are a lot easier for me to write than any characters in my past. I have a more photorealistic image of them in my head, and I am developing a real fondness for them. Moral of the story is: “Outline, outline, outline.”

I am working out the pacing as I go, but I always have the main event list to refer to every time I get a little fuzzy. So far, I am working with an interweaving narrative. I’m going back and forth between two of the main characters every paragraph. I doubt that that can work for every chapter, though. As I move forward, there will be a lot more dialogue, and less of a “The world through X’s eyes” kind of deal.
