Mac OS X is losing Online Market Share, iOS Gains
ComputerWorld is reporting that Mac OS X’s market share has dropped in five of the months in 2010. OS X has fallen back to the 5% share that it was back in February. In contrast, it’s highest point was 5.3% in October 2009. That said, these numbers don’t necessarily reflect the actual sales. Gregg Keizer notes “two weeks ago Apple reported it sold a record 3.5 million Macs in the second quarter.” These numbers might not mean anything in the big picture, but it is certainly something to keep an eye on.
