I was curious as to how the plans worked on Verizon if I bought an iPhone flat-out. The Verizon Rep tells me it is required by federal law that I have to get a data plan.
That sounds bunk to me, but it requires some research. Anyone have any info?
After years of getting bent over the table by HughesNet, FiOS came to my area late last year, and I have been incredibly happy. I just got this spam flyer from HughesNet trying to get my business back.
“No.”
Verizon (Contractors?) came today, and they laid the fiber from the road to my house. The only thing left to do is for them to jack into the FiOS line, and then install our receiver. Exciting!
Yes, Verizon has a nine-hour window for the installation of my FiOS line. Completely ridiculous, but at least I’ll end up with 35 Mbps up and 35 Mbps down afterwards.
After many long nights with awful satellite internet access, we started seeing Verizon doing utility work about a week and a half ago. We ventured to one of the newly installed boxes, and saw the word “Fiber,” and we became cautiously optimistic. Today, we got a flyer in the mail notifying us that Verizon FiOS — arguably the best case scenario as far as broadband choices — is now available for purchase as of today. Hooray! Let the streaming movies begin!
